Aims of the Murraylands Career Development Centre
The Murraylands Career Development Centre aims to support individuals to develop the skills to confidently take control of their career with tools to plan and make decisions about learning and work. It provides individual, independent, confidential career planning services in a non-threatening environment.
We do this by:
Providing assistance:
- to think about ambitions, interests, qualifications and abilities;
- in deciding on a career path based on skills, values and interests;
- with resumes, applications and cover letters;
- in developing and documenting a personal career plan
- to research training or professional development options;
- in interview techniques and tips;
- in researching the hidden job market;
- in finding information about relevant local employment and training services, programs and organisations; and
- in finding information about local industries, their needs and employment opportunities they may have.
Providing training or workshops:
- for individuals, groups and industries;
- in motivation and confidence;
- as outreach services to locations outside of Murray Bridge;
- in linking to Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) services.
Providing workforce development services by:
- providing regional knowledge about industry workforce needs;
- work with local businesses on workforce development projects;
- assist in linking "out of region" workers to local businesses.
